The Berlin-based Italian music producer and sound artist Lorenzo Setti, founder of the lichen label ATME records, under the moniker ATŌMI has been described as "spellbinding" by Foxy Digitalis and “one of the most original of his generation” by Nicchia Elettronica; his practice converges elements of immersive installation art, spatial sound design and interactive A/V performance.
His sound touches a wide range of electronic music genres, such as ambient-techno, mystic minimalism and cinematic with hints of contemporary classical music.
For the Canadian publication MEFD, ATŌMI “does nothing like the others”.
In ATŌMI’s conceptual approach to the creative act there is a clear interconnection between the micro and macro systems - the cosmos and human perception. Symbolic, oneiric and hermetic elements, blend together with a focus on the subconscious and the awakening of atavistic knowledge.
He has produced the albums “Little Floating Oracles”, “ARMØNIA” and “ATØMIA”, as well as various single tracks, featuring a wide range of transdisciplinary collaborations, released on labels such as: 7K!, White Forest Records or through its own label ATME Records.
ATŌMI debut album’s AV live show has been nominated as one of the best 2021 performances by ADAF Greece.
He has exhibit and performed in different festivals and venues, notably Mutek.ar, Ars Electronica Garden NY, Lightbox NYC - Creative Code Festival, MMMAD Festival Urbano de Arte Digital de Madrid, Audra Festival, Schauspielhaus Bochum, Radialsystem, Venice Climate Change Pavilion, Graphic Days Torino - Seeyousound, Frequenz Fest.
Setti’s collaboration with Soundwalk Collective has brought him to work on the sound implementation and spatialization of the 2026 Venice Biennial - Vatican Pavilion “The Ear is the Eye of the Soul”, to co-compose the music for Bottega Veneta fashion show - Milan Fashion Week 2026, to be credited as recording artist and studio sound engineer for Soundwalk Collective (Invisible Landscapes), Nan Goldin (Stendhal Syndrome), Patti Smith and Philip Glass (Mummer Love) and Karl Lagerfeld (7L Librairie).
He has participated in theater productions such as: “Warten Auf Godot” directed by Ulrich Rasche and “Buffalo Gals, won’t you come out tonight” directed by Silvia Costa.
He has been selected for several artistic residencies, amongst others: Divago Festival, “Soniche” Centro Musica and “Echoing” Marea Art Project.
Setti has performed in Europe and the United States with musicians such as: David August and Ricky Rat, opening acts for projects including: Richie Ramone, Man Lifting Banners, Tre Allegri Ragazzi Morti and David Toop.
Other than being credited as co-author in albums such as: “Miraggi” by Argento, “Dead in Devil’s Paradise” by La Herida, “Hyperflower” by Hyperflower.
